Front Steps Project Nazareth

The idea for this project originated here: https://www.thefrontstepsproject.com/

Like everyone, Nazareth residents need to do their part in the COVID-19 crisis and stay at home.

We are documenting this time by taking five-minute “Front Steps Portraits” of Nazareth residents.  Each day we take a few hours to scurry around town and snap super fast images of Nazareth families on their front steps.

The purpose of this project is to bring us together virtually when we might feel isolated.  We aim to highlight the faces of our community during a time when we might not see them in passing at the grocery store, farmers market, brewery or at the gym.  Participating in this project is also an opportunity to step up to help those who need it most right now in Nazareth.

  • Please make a donation to Nazareth Area Food Bank via our Nazareth Downtown Association GoFundMe account:  DONATE

You will know when we are coming. You can step outside, where a photographer from Nazareth will be standing near your driveway or street, at least 10 feet away. He/she will take a couple quick shots and leave. We physically interact with no one, and touch nothing, during these sessions. After your quick session, we will email you the digital file of your portrait.

We *do* smile and laugh with you, however, and don’t we all need a little bit of that right now?

If you wish to post your own front steps photo and donate to a Nazareth area charity, tell us which charity and upload to:

with hashtag #thefrontstepsproject

This is not a typical get-dressed-up-and-pose-for-the-photographer session. Want to stand outside in your pajamas and slippers? Sounds good to us. Kids in mismatched clothes but you’re thrilled they got dressed? Fantastic. Wearing your bike gear because you’re headed off to ride a trail in the nice weather? Love it!

Be you.

#TheFrontStepsProject

#TheFrontStepsProject aims to bring communities together (virtually and absolutely with strict social distancing!) in a time when we are isolated.

Our purpose is to rally our community ONLINE to support a local, deserving non-profit - The Nazareth Area Food Bank.

We will ensure that we are adhering to very strict social distancing and health guidelines.

Nothing is more important than protecting each other.
